WELCOME!! Valley Daycare is located between Mindoro and Holmen, in La Crosse County, Wisconsin. Valley Daycare has been a licensed in-home child care, with a capacity of 8 children, since 2001 by the State of WI, operated by Amanda Christianson. We are expanding to a group child care / daycare license for Fall 2011, by adding a second daycare provider, Jodi Harding. The daycare name to will change to Great Outdoors Learning Center to better reflect our goals for teaching children. Our mission as Great Outdoors Learning Center is to provide step-by-step learning from infancy to preschool to school age. Children will grow and explore in the Great Outdoors, with quality care in a consistent, loving and nurturing manner! Our environment is a safe place that will stimulate the healthy growth, creativity, and development of each child attending! Infants will be provided with learning opportunities such as exersaucers, mobiles, bouncy seats, tummy-time, and be held, sung to and rocked. As they grow, Great Outdoors Learning Center will provide room to learn to roll over, sit up, crawl and walk. Children will develop self-esteem by learning from daycare experiences with diverse toys, other children and projects. Daily lesson plans at Great Outdoors Leaning Center will include math, science, art, pre-reading and writing skills, language, sensory, cooking and fine motor skill such as cutting, gluing, coloring and large motor skills to increase balance and strengthen physical skills. Great Outdoors Learning Center will focus plans around the growth and development of children attending by using formal and infromal assessments with children to learn areas of strengths and areas for improvement. Great Outdoors Learning Center is in the Melrose Mindoro School District and Holmen District buses also pass by our road. Great Outdoors Learning Center works with The Parenting Place of La crosse for Birth to Three Services and both the Melrose Mindoro and Holmen Schools to coordinate with Early Childhood services and 4K. Great Outdoors Learning Center is also on the Melrose Mindoro Early Childhood Committee and participates in the Melrose Mindoro Early Childhood Screening day. Great Outdoors Learning Center hopes to build lasting friendships between daycare children who grow and learn together and daycare families, as we grow and learn together!
